Browse Data on Digital Opportunity in Texas

These interactive charts provide insights into the current state of digital opportunity in Texas. The Broadband Development Office (BDO) has gathered and analyzed data from Texas communities as well as national, public datasets to gain evidence-driven insights into the state of digital opportunity, and to set goals for the next five years and beyond. View the plan here.

Devices Matter.

Without access to a computer or laptop at home, some people are unable to connect to the internet, or have only limited access using a smartphone. Some households are not able to connect to the internet with large-screen devices such as laptops, tablets, or desktop computers. Without sufficient device access, communities are left behind, not able to utilize the internet for school, jobs, healthcare, and essential services (e.g., applying for benefits, banking) that are increasingly moving online.

The Texas Digital Opportunity Plan aims for 90% of all Texans to have an internet-enabled device other than a smartphone by 2030.
